Technology Project Coordinator
Honolulu, HI
Kara Doles served as the 2016-2017 Project Coordinator for the development and roll-out of the Hawaii Legal Services Portal (“screening tool”), an online platform powered by Pro Bono Net designed to direct people with legal problems in Hawaii to helpful legal resources and referrals. The screening tool was the first of its kind in Hawaii, and will be leveraged to develop the statewide justice portal pilot initiative, a collaborative effort among creatives, technology gurus, and leaders from Microsoft, Pro Bono Net, LSC, and Hawaii's Legal Services Consortium. Prior to her work developing the Interview, Kara served as an AmeriCorps Advocate with the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii's Intake Unit and Center for Equal Justice after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in French language and Philosophy (law and ethics focus) from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Kara is enthusiastic and passionate about improving quality of life for others, empowering individuals through education and technology, and cultivating meaningful relationships both in and out of the workplace.
