Why are we still typing data into the Grantee Activity Report (GAR)? A conversation about the good, the bad and the ugly in API use for the GAR reporting

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this session, we will provide three different perspectives on using an Application Programming Interface (API) to automatically pull data for LSC’s Grant Activity Report (GAR) reporting. An LSC grantee will discuss the pros and cons of shifting from a manual reporting process to one that includes automated API transfer of data. What portions of the GAR lend themselves to a system-to-system transfer?  Which forms do not? How often should the data transfer take place?  What are the organizational challenges to API transfer? Staff from LSC (Office of Information Technology and Data Governance) will discuss the process from a technical and data quality standpoint. What are the technical requirements for grantees? How would the process change or improve data analysis and reporting? Representatives from Florida will provide an overview of Florida’s data transfer processes.
