Powerful Public Data Visualizations at Your Fingertips

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Wouldn’t it be powerful if we could get out in front of emerging issues for our clients? Accessing, analyzing, and visualizing external data along with internal data, is essential in identifying emerging needs. The new Data USA tool (https://datausa.io/) makes accessing external data visualizations simple and fun! It combines data from the US Census and other publicly available sources and provides multiple types of interactive visualizations that can be easily downloaded or embedded. This session will include a live demonstration of the Data USA site. Attendees will also learn how to use Data USA’s API and other publicly available APIs and data sources to access raw data for more complex analyses. Finally, attendees will see examples of internal and external data combinations with powerful visualizations from both public defender and legal aid organizations.
