Build Your Own API

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

When you’re asked about APIs, do you blink, and stumble through an answer to get yourself out of the conversation? Have you googled API several times, just to have the information slide out of your brain? Do you have a great grasp of APIs, but haven’t built your own? Application programming interfaces or APIs have become a vital tool in sharing and disseminating information between systems. Whether you are creating an intake record from a triage tool, updating pro bono listings in one platform from another, or gathering changing referral information throughout a state, API tools are the basic building blocks to quickly and securely share information between various platforms. Learn the very basics of APIs and what they do in this fun interactive session. You will build out a basic API tool, see it work in real time, and watch as records are updated with new information that travels from one system to another. Get inspired to mash up exiting data via API in your next (or current) project!
