In the Legal Services community, we are always looking for ways to improve our effectiveness and efficiency. Very often we turn to new technologies to accomplish this. However, we sometimes fail to look at the process we are utilizing and simply place a new technology over an overly burdensome or unnecessarily complicated system. The technology innovation can then fail or simply maintain the status quo because it did not address the root cause of the problem. Business Process Improvement (BPI) can be a useful exercise for programs to assess the efficiency of their current processes, determine what is not working, and then come up with solutions which may involve the use of new technology. In this workshop, we will guide the participants through a simulation of the Lean Six Sigma methodology for BPI. The goal of the workshop is to give participants an opportunity to use the Lean Six Sigma tools so that they can return to their programs prepared to explore ways BPI can help them address their own particular challenges. Limited to the first 25 people who sign up by adding this session to their schedule.
