Consumer Rights Attorney
San Francisco, CA
Claire Johnson Raba is a staff attorney and the consumer law unit coordinator at Bay Area Legal Aid (BayLegal) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Consumer law attorneys at BayLegal serve clients through a combination of full representation, affirmative and impact litigation, and a robust unbundled services clinic model which empowers low-income consumers to understand their consumer rights. In 2011, Claire founded the Consumer Rights Clinics, through which BayLegal's five consumer law attorneys provide legal assistance to over one hundred consumers each month on site in local communities throughout the seven counties of the Bay Area. BayLegal's consumer clinic volunteers use attorney-assisted HotDocs interviews to provide efficient, effective, and scalable assistance to self-represented litigants in debt collection cases. Claire teaches Consumer Law as adjunct faculty at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco and works on document automation for self-represented litigants in consumer law matters.
