Alison DeBelder has a BA from Florida State University in Humanities, a law degree from Florida State University College of Law, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Florida. Alison began her career and spent several years as a criminal defense attorney with the Office of the Public Defender in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2009 she went to work at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc., serving as the co-manager of their Fair Housing Unit and then later as the Director of Advocacy for the firm. Alison currently lives in Tallahassee, Florida, and is changing the world as she works with the Florida Justice Technology Center. Alison also teaches as an adjunct in the College of Social Work at Florida State University, consults as a mitigation expert on JLWOP cases, and serves on the board of the Literacy Volunteers of Leon County.
